Overview

Albion Armorers (now Albion Swords) was originally formed in 1998 by Amy and Howard Waddell. Though primarily a dealer of Del Tin swords at the time, Howard also made scabbards and customized sword components. After a move to New Glarus, Wisconsin in early 2001, the company focused its efforts on developing its own line of swords with blades and some complete swords made by Angus Trim. These swords were supplanted by a series now known as First Generation or "First Gens" which were designed by the staff at Albion and custom swordsmith Randal Graham.

A more accurate lineup of swords was introduced in 2003. Called the Next Generation line, it now includes models representative of nearly the entire Oakeshott Typology. Several new product lines have been introduced, the Squire Line (blunt swords for reenactment, which can also be purchased sharpened), the Maestro Line (for Western Martial Arts and stage use) and the Museum line (recreations of period originals).

Their prices currently range from $430 for less complex Squire Line swords to several thousands of dollars for their Museum Line offerings.
