Boar Sword
From SwordWiki
Overview
Boar swords are specifically made for hunting boars. According to 14th and 15th century manuals ideal blade length for a hunting sword was 48 inches / 122 cms. When wild boar hunts became popular in the later Middle Ages, boar swords were developed. The hilt was usual cross-hilted and hand-and-a-half type. Blade was long and narrow that suddenly widened and thickened near the point. It often had a short bar that was designed to keep a safe distance to the boar.
