Fiore dei Liberi (c. 1350s to 1420s) was an Italian sword master of the late middle ages. He wrote a comprehsive fencing treatise known as Flos Duellotorum(1410), which is Latin for "Flower of the Battle, and two other manuscripts are attributed to him under the title of Fior di Battaglia, which is Italian, also meaning "Flower of the Battle". Fiore's system is a complete one, detailing unarmed combat (abrazare), dagger, longsword in and out of armour, spear and poleax. He is contemporary to the Liechtenauer Medieval German Longsword tradition. In fact, many of the techniques between the two traditions are related, if not exactly the same, however there are certain distinct actions between the two.
