Yamato Takeru

Overview
One famous character in old japanese tales was warrior-prince Yamato Takeru. He has often been titled as predecessor of ninjas. His father emperor Keiko sent him to fight against rebelling tribes. In one story Yamato murdered two enemy Kumaso-warriors, while disguised as a woman. In another story he won a duel, by replacing the sword of his enemy with a bokuto. In one story he cut flaming grass, which enemies had lit, with his sword. When Yamato died, it has been told that a white bird rose to sky from his grave.
